Dear Mervyn:
As far as I know, the PSP drug trials currently enrolling in the UK are by Dr. James Rowe at Cambridge (an oral drug hoping to help anxiety but without slowing the long-term progression of the overall disease) and Southampton by Dr. Boyd Ghosh (one trial of a monoclonal antibody and another of an anti-sense oligonucleotide, both hoping to slow the progression but without helping the immediate symptoms).
I hope this is helpful.
Dr. Golbe
I’ve just created a new post showing past, current and possible near-future clinical trials in PSP all over the world. If it looks like a PowerPoint presentation that I made at a CurePSP-sponsored conference, that’s exactly what it is. It’s a pdf and you can download it if you like, or you can scroll through it in the blog.
Thank you Dr Golbe
You are a source of comfort and hope.
Dear Dr Golbe
My wife had been diagnosed with PSP in March 2022 by Dr Paul Hart here in the UK.
She is 63 years old and had been a very active person. Professionally, she was a medical secretary
She is considered to be at a very early stage as she is still independent and retains most of her cognitive functions.
Can you please advise me if there are any trials (drugs) that we can participate with.
Any advice from you will be greatly appreciate as I have been following your blog avidly. I also seen your presentation on the UK PSPA research day.
Kind Regards
Mervyn
